Returning or Retiring to Ghana
Prepare Your Healthcare Before You Move
Returning or retiring to Ghana is a major life transition. Your healthcare records, medication history and follow-up plan should be part of that preparation.
Your Continuity Pathway
- Complete a pre-return health and medication inventory.
- Compile diagnoses, medication list, allergies, recent labs, imaging and specialist records.
- Identify medications that may require a Ghana-licensed prescriber, substitution or local availability review.
- Schedule an establishing visit with Green Health Clinic Ghana.
- Have the local clinician review your history and determine appropriate prescriptions, monitoring or referrals under Ghanaian practice.
- Establish a pharmacy/refill and laboratory-monitoring plan where available and lawful.
- Create an ongoing Ghana care plan and escalation/referral pathway.
Important Medication Information
CONTINUITY OF MEDICATIONS — NOT AUTOMATIC TRANSFER OF FOREIGN PRESCRIPTIONS.
Bring your current medication list and records. Our Ghana clinical team can review your regimen, assess local availability and determine the appropriate locally authorized prescribing and dispensing pathway. Some medicines may require a new local prescription, specialist review or an appropriate alternative.
