Oncology Metabolic Program

CANCER CARE IS ABOUT THE TUMOR — AND THE PERSON LIVING WITH IT.

A Structured Six-Month Supportive Program

The Oncology Metabolic Program focuses on metabolic health, nutrition, body composition, treatment tolerance, recovery and individualized supportive care alongside your oncology team.

Cancer and cancer treatment can intersect with glucose regulation, nutrition, muscle mass, weight, cardiovascular health, sleep, micronutrient status, appetite, gastrointestinal health and overall metabolic resilience. The program evaluates modifiable domains and builds a coordinated plan appropriate to the patient’s condition and oncology treatment.

What This Program Is Not

  • Not a replacement for surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hormonal therapy or other evidence-based oncology care.
  • Not a guarantee of cure, remission or prolonged survival.
  • Not a reason to delay oncology evaluation or treatment.
  • Not a blanket protocol. Recommendations are individualized and screened for interactions and contraindications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I do this during chemotherapy, radiation or immunotherapy?

Potentially, but recommendations must be coordinated with the oncology plan and screened for interactions, contraindications, nutrition needs and treatment-related risks.

No program should promise a cancer cure. The purpose is to support metabolic and overall health alongside appropriate oncology care.

No. Nutrition should be individualized. Weight loss, poor intake, treatment effects and other clinical issues may make aggressive carbohydrate restriction inappropriate.

Not automatically. Supplements and medications can interact with oncology treatment, so reconciliation and coordination are important.

The program may still focus on nutrition, metabolic health, symptom support and quality of life, while oncology and palliative-care teams remain essential.
